We lost Sally to complications from a uterine infection (pyometra) on October 18. She gave no indication of being ill the previous evening. On the morning of the 18th, she was slightly lethargic, but her body temperature was normal. Four hours later, she was vomiting, and had a fever of 105.4° F. Veterinary examination disclosed that she had a closed pyometra, and that her uterus had burst. She died that afternoon. She was our most experienced wild bird dog, and we will miss her.
