2012 Litters

In February, 2012, we will breed Striking Elhew Mack to both Striking Elhew Diva and Striking Elhew Jessie. Pups should be whelped in April, and ready to go to new homes in June.

Both breedings are rich in the Elhew Strike x Elhew Kiwi genetics that Bob Wehle often noted produced his best gun dogs - and, particularly, his best grouse dogs. The sire, and both dams, are outstanding wild bird dogs- equally proficient on ruffed grouse, woodcock, sharptail grouse, prairie chickens, pheasants, and huns.

These two well bred litters are equally promising. They will be well made, classy, athletic, compliant companion gun dogs with an abundance of natural ability. We expect both litters to be sold out quickly. Early reservations are recommended.

A $150 deposit, refundable if we fail to produce the pup that you have specified, reserves your prospect.

Striking Elhew Mack

Mack is an exceptionally well made natural bird dog, with an ideal temperament. He and Diva are equally proficient on woodland and prairie grouse. Both are natural retrievers, with the intelligence to hunt close in the grouse woods and the initiative to hunt more ambitiously on the prairie.

This breeding promises to produce outstanding wild bird dogs, and complaint family companions. The genetics of this litter are derived primarily from the Elhew Strike x Elhew Kiwi "nick" proven to produce exceptional gun dogs, and secondarily from Elhew Snakefoot and Fearless Bud through the great champion producers, Elhew Jefferson and Deep Creek Kate. Black, liver, and orange pups are possible.

Mack is a classy, athletic, solidly built, intelligent dog of exceptional natural ability. He passes these traits on to his pups. Jessie is a gifted natural bird dog with a great temperament, and near perfect conformation. Both Mack and Jessie handle kindly, have excellent "noses", retrieve naturally, and are accomplished on both prairie and woodland grouse.

This repeat breeding represents an uncommon concentration of the McGoo/Sea Wolf "blood" (Strike x Kiwi) known to produce exceptional natural gun dogs - particularly grouse dogs. National Shooting Dog Champion Elhew Snakefoot is represented in this pedigree by Elhew Jefferson, his most charismatic son. These pups will look good in the kennel, in front of the fireplace, on the ground, or on point. They will make great family companions and wild bird dogs.
